Job summary

The Garibaldi Fire Department seeks an experienced training director to plan, develop, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate all fire and EMS training programs. The role is exempt/non-represented with a $65,000 annual salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements include 10 years in fire service, 3+ years as Company Officer or higher, 3+ years leading a training division, Instructor II, Fire Officer II, EMT Basic or higher, and a valid insurable Oregon driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years fire service experience
• 3+ years as Company Officer or higher
• 3+ years leading or managing a fire/EMS training division
• Instructor II and Fire Officer II
• EMT Basic or higher license
• Insurable Oregon driver’s license
• Knowledge of Imagetrend Elite
• Equivalency consideration possible with education/training

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, coordinate, deliver and evaluate fire and EMS training programs
• Ensure effective training operations and program evaluation
• Respond to after-hour emergencies during on-call periods

Skills

Ten years of fire service experience

3+ years as Company Officer or higher

3+ years leading or managing training

Instructor II

Fire Officer II

EMT Basic license or higher

Education

Associate degree in Fire Science / Emergency Management / Education or related field
