The Bluegrass Challenge Academy is hiring a Training Development Specialist II position that provides logistical and developmental support for the KY Youth Challenge training requirements for both cadets and staff, develops, conducts and evaluates in-service training programs.

  • Implement nationally approved training plans for both cadre and non-cadre staff as well as manage all national an in-house training requirements.
  • Implement, conduct and evaluate Cadet Core component tasks as defined by the National Guard Youth Challenge Program (NGYCP).
  • Prepare training materials IAW national guidelines.
  • Assist in maintaining appropriate documentation for core component tasks IAW national program requirements.
  • Maintain academy training records, calendar and schedule.
  • Request necessary training support and resources.
  • Process and distribute all schedule requests.
  • Assist in cadet application approval process as well as cadet intake process which includes assisting with documentation verification and follow-up.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings.
Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of professional experience in planning, coordinating, or conducting staff development and training courses, personnel administration or teaching, or professional experience in providing or administering human services or governmental programs.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Graduate study in psychometrics, industrial relations, psychology, statistics, education, or a related field will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional experience in the above areas will substitute for the required education on the basis of one year of experience for two years of education. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.
