Job description

Training & Development Specialist (Manufacturing Focus)
Job Summary

We are looking for a dynamic, organized, and forward-thinking Training and Development Specialist to join our HR team. In this role, you won't just be checking boxes; you will be the architect of our team’s growth. You will design hands‑on training courses tailored specifically for our manufacturing workforce, map out clear career trajectories, and keep our annual training machine running like a well‑oiled piece of plant machinery.

If you love bridging the gap between operational efficiency and human potential—and don’t mind organizing an epic company barbecue or team‑building event along the way—we want to talk to you.

Key Responsibilities
1. Instructional Design & Course Creation

Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs specifically tailored for manufacturing roles (including safety, compliance, equipment operation, and quality assurance).

Translate complex technical manuals and operational procedures into engaging, easy‑to‑digest training modules for floor staff.

2. Training Schedule & Needs Assessment

Coordinate and maintain the comprehensive Annual Training Schedule, ensuring zero disruption to production shifts.

Conduct regular skills gap analyses and development needs assessments across various departments to proactively identify training opportunities.

3. Career Pathing & Talent Development

Collaborate with leadership to develop, launch, and coordinate structured employee career paths, helping frontline workers see a clear trajectory from entry‑level to leadership.

Provide guidance to employees and supervisors on development opportunities aligned with career goals.

4. Tracking, Metrics, and Quarterly Reviews

Track and document all employee training records within our Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring 100% compliance with industry regulations.

Coordinate and track the quarterly performance review process, ensuring managers complete reviews on time and translating review data into actionable training initiatives.

5. Employee Engagement & Culture

Participate actively in planning, organizing, and executing employee engagement events (e.g., town halls, appreciation weeks, team‑building activities) to foster a positive, collaborative workplace culture.

Role Overview & Success Metrics

Core Focus Area Primary Metric of Success

Manufacturing Training Reduction in onboarding ramp‑up time; lower safety incident rates.

LMS & Review Tracking 100% compliance on mandatory training; 100% on‑time quarterly review completion.

Career Pathing Increase in internal promotion rates and retention of key talent.

Engagement Events High employee participation and improved scores on annual engagement surveys.

Qualifications & Skills

What you bring to the factory floor and the HR office:

Experience: 3–5 years of experience in Corporate Training, Instructional Design, or HR, ideally within a manufacturing, industrial, or logistics environment.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Technical Savvy: Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS), HRIS platforms, and e‑learning authoring tools.

Project Management: Stellar organizational skills with a proven track record of managing an annual calendar and tracking quarterly review cycles.

Communication Style: Excellent public speaking and facilitation skills, with the unique ability to connect equally well with executive leadership and shift workers.

Creativity: A knack for making compliance training interesting and turning standard company events into memorable team‑building experiences.
