Responsibilities

  • Review and revise training documents and store on Teams/SharePoint Online.

About the Mission You Will Join:

VMD is supporting a large federal contracting company with the delivery of a 10-year contract supporting the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Integrated Service Center (ISC). As part of this effort, VMD is leading the IT training initiatives to engage with FAA personnel to instruct them on the use of the IT tools and technologies made available to them by the FAA. This is an important function as it ensures that FAA staff members can increase the efficiency and effectiveness of their efforts by having the knowledge needed to fully leverage these IT technologies. This training is currently focused on MS Office 365, MS Teams and GenAI tools, but will evolve to other technologies as needed.

Your Impact to the Mission: Training Delivery Specialist's responsibilities are to:
  • Work with VMD's Training Development Leads to understand resources and deliver instructional content for assigned courses.
  • Identify, learn, and share best practices in the M365 environment One-on-One or in a remote classroom environment.
  • Research solutions to student questions regarding Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) technology (primarily Microsoft 365 and related apps).
  • Coordinate follow-up with training attendees to support them in the use of COTS products.
  • Regularly review and revise supporting documentation as needed and store it in the appropriate Teams or SharePoint Online site.
  • Manage and administer the electronic training calendar.
  • Document training metrics, such as the number of attendees in class, number of classes per month, response rates to student surveys, etc.
  • Provide support for coordinating, developing, and delivering computer-related training to the user community.
  • Provide second level support and coordinate training with Helpdesks.
  • Provide standards, services, and guidance on IT related training programs that are designed to enable Government agency personnel to use information technologies and systems more productively. Services include the development, delivery, and/or coordination of training courses and materials that address specific agency needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience Needed to Be Successful:
  • 7 to 9 years of experience leading complex projects in the subject area of expertise.
  • Fluency with Microsoft 365 and associated apps.
  • Ability to deliver training remotely via MS Teams or Zoom, using Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) on a variety of COTS IT technologies.
  • Ability to create non interactive video-based training materials
  • Ability to deliver instructional content in organized and logical steps using clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience creating multimedia content using Camtasia or other authoring tools.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace helpful.
  • Train classes, ability to develop training (job) aids on demand.
  • Conduct 1:1 mentoring sessions online or over the phone.
  • Training development, including course design, training syllabus, building training from an instructional system design model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE))
  • Possess thorough knowledge of appropriate hardware and software.
  • Understand computer functions and related technical terminology and how they are applied in everyday business situations.
  • Possess exceptional interpersonal skills and superior oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to gain a Help Desk Institute (HDI) certification within 30/60 days.
Basic Qualifiers:
  • Education Requirement: A Master’s degree (preferred) or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited post‑secondary institution or program.
  • Can Additional Years of Experience Substitute for Degree? Yes
  • Desired Certification(s): Certification with the Help Desk Institute (HDI)
  • Minimum Years of Overall Experience: 7
  • Minimum Years of Specific Experience in Field: 7
  • Minimum Clearance to Start: Public Trust
  • Work Status Allowable: US Citizen
