Overview

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

Coordinate staff development and deliver training to staff at the facility to ensure facility goals and objectives are achieved.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Utilize various learning techniques to deliver staff training.
  • Participate in New Hire Orientation classes as required.
  • Conduct restraint trainings, including de-escalation and restraint training for new hires and refresher courses.
  • Conduct all annual in-service training for current employees at least monthly.
  • Conduct CPR certification classes as required.
  • Collaborate with HR and compliance departments to ensure timely staff training.
  • Coordinate offsite training as needed and directed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records in accordance with state regulations and company policy.
  • Develop training classes upon leadership request, with departmental assistance, to meet facility needs.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining employee training information in the HR database and ensure proper filing of records.
  • Provide appropriate patient care and interactions, respecting age, culture, and population served.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a behavioral health setting required.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • CPR, de-escalation, and restraint certifications required (training provided upon hire and by the facility).
  • First aid certification may be required depending on state or facility requirements.
