HomeFirst seeks a Training Coordinator in Santa Clara County to develop and deliver comprehensive staff trainings. Under the Talent Development Director, you will create engaging modules, track compliance, and support trainers across virtual and in-person sessions.

You will collaborate with the Training Manager, adapt content for varied staff, and drive professional development while maintaining alignment with policy and contract requirements. Remote work portions are possible.

Qualifications

  • One year of experience in social services, training or teaching field.
  • Familiarity with homelessness, through volunteerism or past employment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel, in training and tracking.
  • Bachelor’s or higher in social services or teaching preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate trainings with superior communication, adapting content for staff.
  • Assist training implementation including prep, transportation, setup, and cleanup.
  • Develop and maintain training modules to stay relevant and policy-compliant.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development and train-the-trainers practices.
  • Operate Learning Management Systems to track certifications, assignments, and reports.
  • Be a subject‑matter expert, ready to answer staff questions.

Under the direction and guidance of the Talent Development Director, the Training Coordinator facilitates a series of detailed, engaging, and effective trainings for staff, with the intention of equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to best serve our county’s homeless residents and those at risk of homelessness.The training coordinator is eligible to complete some work remotely. Schedule details, including remote hours, are determined by the Talent Development Director.REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:This role reports to the Training Manager.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESFacilitate trainings with superior communication skills, adapting content to staff in attendanceAssist team with training implementation. Tasks include preparation, transportation, set-up, various tasks during training, and clean-up.Assist with the development and maintenance of training modules, ensuring they stay relevant to staff needs and compliant with company policies and contract requirementsCommitment to continued professional and content development through research; giving and receiving feedback; and attending self-development training and train-the-trainersUtilize the digital Learning Management Systems and internal digital portal to track training certifications and completions, assign training, and run reports.Be a subject-matter expert in training topics, ready to support staff questionsHomeFirst is a diverse company that serves and supports a diverse community.
