Job summary

Lufthansa Cargo AG in Chicago seeks a seasoned logistics professional to lead regional handling operations, ensuring safety, security and quality in cargo and aircraft handling within the LCAG framework.

You will engage with external partners, collaborate with sales teams to meet customer requirements, analyze processes for efficiency, and travel as needed to support operations; relocation assistance may be provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business admin, logistics, or industrial engineering, or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of relevant logistics or airline industry experience.
• Fluency in English required.
• Legal work permit in the U.S. required.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Lead production framework for cargo and aircraft handling ensuring safety, security and quality.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
• Evaluate and select external partners for handling services with central procurement.
• Maintain regular contact with sales units to understand requirements and drive customer satisfaction.
• Continuously analyze processes to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned by superiors.

Job description

Tasks

Your main tasks include, among others:

• Ensuring the maintenance of a production framework (cargo and aircraft handling, RFS), which provides safety, security and quality in accordance with the global LCAG production framework (LCAG production system, CHM and standards)
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant internal and external regulations
• Evaluation and selection of external partners (esp. for handling services) in collaboration with the central procurement department, according to the relevant procurement processes
• Regular contact to the sales units in order to understand customer requirements and collaborate on high customer satisfaction
• Constant process analysis and identification of improving potential regarding effectiveness and efficiency of all handling processes

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, preferably business administration, logistics, or (industrial) engineering, or an equivalent combination of training and professional experience
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience in the logistics or airline industry
• Fluency in English language required
• Advanced professional operations know how and skills in an airline or logistics environment
• Knowledge in MS office, Excel, Word & PowerPoint as user
