TheArizona Cardinals Training Camp Assistant – Athletic Training is a full-time, temporary, non-exempt role based in Glendale, AZ, reporting to the Head Athletic Trainer. The position runs mid-July through August during NFL training camp and includes housing, travel, and selected meals.

In-person work with the Football Operations – Athletic Training team.Eligible students must be enrolled in a college program and have exposure to athletic training or sports medicine.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a college level educational program.
• Prior exposure to athletic training and/or sports medicine preferred.
• Ability to lift 30+ pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in daily treatments of injured athletes.
• Preparing athletes for daily practices.
• Maintaining a clean and sanitized Athletic Training Room.
• Set-up and breakdown of all Athletic Training supplies for practices/games.
• Communicating with medical staff regarding players’ health and injury statuses.
• Assisting with hydration of athletes during all activities.
• Assisting staff in managing athletes during the game day process.
• Maintaining confidential medical records of care for each athlete daily.
• Setting up mobile athletic training room during road trips and training camp.
• Aiding medical staff with increased demands during training camp.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

The Arizona Cardinals Training Camp Assistant – Athletic Training is sponsored by the Football Operations - Athletic Training Department located at the Dignity Health Arizona Cardinals Training Facility in Tempe, AZ. This position provides an exceptional opportunity for committed, hardworking, and dedicated individuals that are seeking to gain a future career in Athletic Training, including first-hand experience in a National Football League (NFL) environment. The Training Camp Assistant – Athletic Training position assists in all aspects of the day-to-day operations for the Athletic Training Department. This is a paid position with housing, travel and selected meals provided for the duration of the role.

Primary Job Duties

• Assisting in daily treatments of injured athletes.
• Preparing athletes for daily practices.
• Maintaining a clean and sanitized Athletic Training Room.
• Set-up and breakdown of all Athletic Training supplies needed for daily practices/games.
• Communicating with the medical staff regarding players’ health and injury statuses throughout the day.
• Assisting with hydration of athletes during all activities.
• Assisting staff in managing athletes during the game day process.
• Maintaining confidential medical records of care received for each athlete daily.
• Setting up mobile athletic training room during road trips and training camp.
• Aiding medical staff with increased demands during training camp.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Education: Must be enrolled in a college level educational program.
• Experience: Prior exposure to the field of athletic training and/or sports medicine, football gameday or practice environment, handling equipment/setup, etc.
• Demonstrates an understanding when working with injured athletes.
• Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and sensitivity around professional athletes in their work environment.
• Effective communication skills with all individuals across the organization.
• Ability to maintain high energy and a positive attitude on a team united toward the common goals of championship-level performance.
• Ability to lift to 30+ pounds on a regular basis.
• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to eight (8) hours in length.
• This role may require exposure to outdoor weather conditions (extreme heat).
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays; hours may vary depending on business needs.
• Must complete all pre-employment forms and successfully pass a background check.
