Job summary

The Arizona Cardinals are seeking a Front of House Assistant for their Nutrition Services Department in Tempe. This full-time, non-exempt role supports the overall meal service operation for team and corporate meals year-round.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position includes a strong emphasis on food safety, inventory control, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED; or equivalent.
  • Experience: Food service background required; or equivalent.
  • Experience: Hospitality environment preferred with knowledge in food service operations.
  • Current Food Handler Card from ServSafe (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • Experience and ability to contribute to a healthy team environment within an organization united toward championship-level performance.
  • Effective communication with all individuals across the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Maintains confidentiality around professional athletes.
  • Must stand for up to eight hours and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, proper hygiene, and uniform standards.

  • Early morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays availability.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with front-of-house meal service operations during all phases of the year.
  • Stock disposables, snacks, beverages, and fueling station ingredients.
  • Communicate ordering needs and track inventory with Back of House and Front of House.
  • Assist in preparation of grab-n-go items and action station offerings.
  • Ensure proper food handling, FIFO practices, labeling, and dating.
  • Provide feedback for menu planning and product quality to managers.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of meal rooms and equipment.
  • Report equipment malfunctions and food safety concerns to supervisors.
  • Support off-site meal service during training camps and events.
  • Assist in receiving deliveries of performance products.

Job Summary:

As a member of the Arizona Cardinals Nutrition Services Department, the Front of House Assistant is responsible for assisting with the overall meal service operation of team and corporate meals during all phases of the year. The Front of House Assistant will handle the front-line operations under the direction of the Sr. Manager, Performance Nutrition and Culinary Assistant.

Primary Job Duties:

The Front of House Assistant will have the daily responsibilities including, without limitation, to the following:

  • Regularly stocks disposables, grab-n-go snacks, packaged/dry goods, condiments, NA beverages, Gatorade, condiments, dry goods, packaged goods, and fueling station ingredients.
  • Communicate ordering needs to Back of House and Front of House; track inventory for items listed above.
  • Assists in the preparation of grab-n-go fruit and action station, and other items, as needed.
  • Communicates with back of house on productions needs and excess/leftovers.
  • Responsible for set-up, flow and breakdown of services and action station (omelet, pasta, etc.) within shift, communicates station prep PARS with Back of House.
  • Follow procedures for serving food, as well as rotating and storing food within coolers, freezers, dry storage, etc. utilizing a FIFO-approach (including labeling, dating, rotating, and screening products to meet food safety and organizational standards).
  • Provides relevant feedback from personnel for menu planning to managers.
  • Adhere to guidelines for discarding or returning products that do not meet organizational standards.
  • Participate in off-season field trips, culinary workshops, nutrition education series and deep cleaning/organizing projects independently.
  • Maintain an A grade level cleanliness of the meal room and equipment.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, food safety concerns or violations to superiors.
  • Participate in the execution of training camp meal service at off-site locations.
  • Assist Back of House with receiving deliveries of performance products.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or GED; or equivalent
  • Experience: Food service background required; or equivalent
  • Experience: Experience in hospitality environment preferred with knowledge in food service operations
  • Current Food Handler Card from ServSafe (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Experience and ability to contribute to a healthy team environment within an organization united toward the common goals of championship-level performance
  • Effective communication with all individuals across the organization
  • Ability to effectively work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities and meet required deadlines
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and sensitivity around profession athletes in their work environment
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to eight (8) hours in length
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, proper hygiene, and uniform standards.
