Job summary

Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) is seeking a Training & Consultation Specialist within the Division of Student Services to design and deliver professional development for educators and school leaders. The TaC Specialist will lead training initiatives and guide other specialists and consultants to support student growth and achievement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Special Education or related field required.
• Excellent written and oral communication; ability to facilitate trainings and meetings with teachers, paraeducators and administrators.
• Experience with IEP development / data-informed decisions.
• Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience (special education preferred).
• PDE Special Education certification or related field certification required; BCBA preferred.

Responsibilities

School Year Position

The TaC Specialist conducts training and professional development within Chester County and beyond. TaC Specialists are responsible for developing and implementing specified training and development programs and initiatives to support the development of educators, support staff, and school leaders in order to maximize student growth and achievement. TaC Specialists provide leadership and guidance to other specialists, instructors, and/or external consultants, as requested to support programming, develop teachers, and support student success.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Conducts individual, group, and organization-based training and professional development based on needs analyses and assessments at the request of schools and community organizations.
• Plans, develops, and delivers individual and/or group training and instructional programs, encompassing a wide range of technical, operational, management, and/or other skills areas.
• Provides support in the area of special education including but not limited to IEP development, progress monitoring, instructional strategies, social emotional learning, mental health, and more.
• Develops or oversees the development of training curricula; formulates or reviews training outlines and determines appropriate instructional methodologies and formats; evaluates and recommends incorporation of vendor programs, as appropriate to meet overall training goals and objectives.
• Oversees and coordinates the development and preparation of teaching and visual aids, instructional materials, computer tutorials, and reference materials appropriate to specific program objectives.
• Coordinates, facilitates, and/or conducts specified professional development activities, such as planning team building events, organization analyses, recommendations for school improvement, restructuring exercises, social emotional well-being, and more.
• Evaluates effectiveness of training and development programs and utilizes relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods.
• Provides guidance and leadership to employee and organizational development consultants and training professionals.
• Supports schools in building local capacity by helping educators and others at the local level develop skills needed to work with students with academic and/or behavioral health needs.
• Assists in coordinating workflow and administrative activities necessary to deliver and document program implementation.
• Provides input and assists in the planning, assessment, and implementation of organizational goals and objectives, in line with overall school goals and objectives.
• Participates in PDE-sponsored training sessions and planning meetings.
• Utilizes and disseminates PDE sponsored materials and information.
• Performs additional duties as needed and specified by PDE and the organization.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors or Master's degree in Special Educationor related fieldrequired
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to facilitate effective and engaging group trainings,coachingand meetingswith teachers, paraeducators and administrators
• Experience with IEP development / contribution as based on reliable, valid assessment data
• Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience (special education preferred), school-age level preferred
• Professional Credentials
  • PDE Special Education certification or certification in related fieldrequired
  • Psychologist or BCBA certification preferred
  • Experience supporting low incidence students, Autistic support

Salary 2026-2027 School Year:

• $62,155.00 to $89,730.00- Instructional I Certification
• $64,834.00to $93,324.00- InstructionalII Certification
• $69,353.00to $101,911.00- Master's Degree
• $72,740.00 to $105,924.00- Master's + 15
• $74,415.00 to $107,845.00- Master's + 30

Schedule:

5 days per week, 7.5 hours per day.
