Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Iuka, MS, seeks a Trainer Production 3 to support ASTAR by delivering on-the-job and classroom training for assembly and production. You will develop training programs, track certifications, and monitor progress across manufacturing teams.

The role requires the ability to train technicians on complex composite processes, interpret technical documents, and work various shifts with potential overtime. U.S. Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 4 years of manufacturing experience or related education.
• Strong oral, written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Secret level clearance.
• Experience reading and interpreting drawings, process procedures, and technical documents.
• Willingness to work varied shifts including 4/10s and 3/12s and overtime as needed.
• Ability to train technicians and engineering teams in complex processes.

Our Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Trainer Production 3 to join our ASTAR organization located in Iuka, MS .

As a member of the team, you will provide technical support to ASTAR on a variety of technical tasks. Support Performs on-the-job training, skills training, and some classroom training in assembly and production areas. Participates in the development and implementation of new training programs and may introduce new processes and sequences for manufacturing areas. Maintains rosters of training progress, examination records, and certification records and may monitor trainees. Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional manufacturing experience and/or related education experience.
• Strong oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work any shift and schedule including 4/10's 2nd shift (7pm - 5:30am), 3/12's 2nd shift or including overtime as necessary to meet business needs.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business needs. U.S. Citizenship required for clearance.
• Experience with reading and interpreting technical documents, drawings, and process procedures
• Must be able to perform moderately strenuous physical and repetitious work to include bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, lifting up to 35 pounds, and working overhead
• Must be able to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment
• Ability to train & teach technicians, Quality Assurance, & Manufacturing Engineer teams in complex composite structures certification.
• Provide lectures and hands on instruction on Countersinking, Drilling through a composite /metallic stack-up, execute a drawn layout with proper ED,
• Ability to develop, present, teach, & mentor technicians on modern complex composite processes.
• Ability to demonstrate skills equivalent to entry level blueprint , Visual Work Instruction (VWI), Process Work Instructions (PWI) and technical data comprehension and shop math. Knowledgeable in the use of process specifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 3 years direct experience working with Aircraft Structures, Drilling, Fastener Installation, Electrical wire Harness fabrication, Non-Conformance Repairs, Aircraft Seal application, Scarf Repair, Rivet installation, Liquid & Solid Shim application, Ability to Pull holes, Countersinking, Surface Preparation
• Current/active U.S. Government Secret level clearance
• Team leadership experience
• Strong oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills
• Self-starter who is able to work with minimal direction
• Current Program Special Access
• Aircraft Structures and airframe fabrication assembly, aircraft fuel tank seal application experience, composite drilling, electrical wire harness fabrication & installation, and LO coatings experience
• Ability to demonstrate independent creative thinking and problem-solving capabilities
• Experience with operating various types of manufacturing tools and/or composition curing equipment
• Must be able to individually manage multiple tasks concurrently and provide technical support to business functions on a variety of different projects
• Ability to interface & communicate effectively with various support organizations, upper levels of management, and ASTAR teammates.
• Full knowledge of the job. Complete acquaintance with and understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the job, and their practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily encountered.
