Job Summary

Our Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Trainer Production 3 to join our ASTAR organization located in Iuka, MS. As a member of the team, you will provide technical support to ASTAR on a variety of technical tasks.

Support Performs on-the-job training, skills training, and some classroom training in assembly and production areas. Participates in the development and implementation of new training programs and may introduce new processes and sequences for manufacturing areas. Maintains rosters of training progress, examination records, and certification records and may monitor trainees.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional manufacturing experience and/or related education experience.
• Strong oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work any shift and schedule including 4/10’s 2nd shift (7pm - 5:30am), 3/12's 2nd shift or including overtime as necessary to meet business needs.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business needs.
• U.S. Citizenship required for clearance.
• Experience with reading and interpreting technical documents, drawings, and process procedures.
• Must be able to perform moderately strenuous physical and repetitious work to include bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, lifting up to 35 pounds, and working overhead.
• Must be able to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment.
• Ability to train & teach technicians, Quality Assurance, & Manufacturing Engineer teams in complex composite structures certification.
• Provide lectures and hands on instruction on Countersinking, Drilling through a composite /metallic stack-up, execute a drawn layout with proper ED, Ability to develop, present, teach, & mentor technicians on modern complex composite processes.
• Ability to demonstrate skills equivalent to entry level blueprint , Visual Work Instruction (VWI), Process Work Instructions (PWI) and technical data comprehension and shop math.
• Knowledgeable in the use of process specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 3 years direct experience working with Aircraft Structures, Drilling, Fastener Installation, Electrical wire Harness fabrication, Non-Conformance Repairs, Aircraft Seal application, Scarf Repair, Rivet installation, Liquid & Solid Shim application, Ability to Pull holes, Countersinking, Surface Preparation.
• Current/active U.S. Government Secret level clearance.
• Team leadership experience.
• Strong oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter who is able to work with minimal direction.
• Current Program Special Access Aircraft Structures and airframe fabrication assembly, aircraft fuel tank seal application experience, composite drilling, electrical wire harness fabrication & installation, and LO coatings experience.
• Ability to demonstrate independent creative thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience with operating various types of manufacturing tools and/or composition curing equipment.
• Must be able to individually manage multiple tasks concurrently and provide technical support to business functions on a variety of different projects.
• Ability to interface & communicate effectively with various support organizations, upper levels of management, and ASTAR teammates.
• Full knowledge of the job. Complete acquaintance with and understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the job, and their practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily encountered.
• Ability to work with Limited supervision. No instructions needed on routine work, and general instructions given on new lines of work or spec.

Primary Level Salary Range: $45,800.00 - $76,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
