Northrop Grumman in Palmdale, CA is seeking a Composites Trainer Production 4 to join our JET team under ASTAR. You will provide on-the-job, skills training and some classroom instruction in assembly and production areas, and help develop new training programs for manufacturing.

The role requires a High School diploma with 6 years of manufacturing experience, plus 3 years in composites work. Travel up to 10% and potential shift changes, with a U.S.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional manufacturing experience and/or related education experience
  • Minimum of 3 years direct experience working with Composites, Bagging, Layup, Repairs and Curing
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter who is able to work with minimal direction
  • This opportunity is for 2nd shift but must have the ability to work any shift and schedule including 4/10’s or 3/10's, 1st shift (5am- 3:30pm) or 2nd shift (4:12pm- 2:42am), including overtime as necessary to meet business needs
  • This position requires having a current active U.S. Government Secret Clearance
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain Program Special Access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
  • This position requires the ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 35 pounds, and working overhead
  • Must be able to access small confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment
  • The ability to pass Special Medical/Respiratory Exam
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any certs needed for working on the production floor

Our Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Composites Trainer Production 4 to join our JET (Job Enhancement Training) team under the umbrella of our ASTAR (Aeronautics Systems Training for Advanced Refinement) team in Palmdale, CA.


As a member of the JET team, you will provide technical support to ASTAR (Aeronautics Systems Training for Advanced Refinement) on a variety of technical tasks. Support Performs on-the-job training, skills training, and some classroom training in assembly and production areas. Participates in the development and implementation of new training programs and may introduce new processes and sequences for manufacturing areas. Maintains rosters of training progress, examination records, and certification records and may monitor trainees.


Basic Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications


  • Team leadership experience

  • Current Program Special Access

  • Structures and airframe fabrication, assembly, and LO coatings experience

  • Ability to demonstrate independent creative thinking and problem-solving capabilities

  • Experience with operating various types of manufacturing tools and/or composition curing equipment

  • Must be able to individually manage multiple tasks concurrently and provide technical support to business functions on a variety of different projects

  • Experience with reading and interpreting technical documents, drawings, and process procedures

  • Ability to interface with various support organizations and levels of management


Primary Level Salary Range: $66,600.00 - $111,000.00


The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.


Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
