Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking an Associate System Operator trainee to develop the credentials and competencies required for progression in the System Operator hierarchy. You will monitor system parameters under limited supervision while advancing through the SOQP and earning NERC-related credentials.

The role involves flexible scheduling including 24x7 shift rotations and a path through multiple levels of responsibility after training completion. Onsite facility work may be required.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or 2 years related experience required.
• Completion of the Duke Energy System Operator Qualification Program (SOQP) or pursuit of NERC credentials encouraged.
• Regional or local operator certification/verification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and verify job task verifications through ongoing knowledge and skill development.
• Prepare for and pass the NERC system operator certification with supervision.
• Complete training requirements including ERO standards and PJM certifications.
