Job summary

Goodstart Early Learning Vermont is offering a Trainee Educator position to support children’s early learning journeys. You will study towards a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care with guidance from centre leadership, while contributing to daily care and learning activities.

You will work with children, families and a team to foster safe, inclusive environments and adhere to national standards. This role is part-time with funded training and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care is required or pursued.
• Temporary Traineeship leading toward permanent employment.
• National Child Safety Foundation Training as a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment for children, families and staff.
• Contribute to the education program in the room and centre team.

As a Trainee Educator at Goodstart, you will be dedicated to giving children the best possible start to their school journey. With the support of your Centre Leadership Team, Teachers, and Educators, you will be empowered to forge your career whilst working towards a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care.

You will achieve this by:

• Maintaining a safe environment for children, families, and team members
• Complying with National Quality Standards (NQS) and Goodstart Policies, Procedures and Requirements
• Building and maintaining strong, positive relationships with children and families
• Actively contributing to the education program in the room and the centre team
• Supporting a culture of reflective practice and ongoing continuous improvement

To be eligible for a Traineeship you are not able to hold a previous Certificate or Diploma qualification completed outside of secondary school in the last 7 years. Applicants who have completed a school-based certificateother than in childcare will still be eligible.

In addition, you must have:

• The willingness and motivation to study towards a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care
• A permanent right to work in Australia
• Good time management and organisational skills
• Ability to work well individually and as part of a team
• Enthusiasm and a positive attitude
• Interest in early years education
• Working with Children Check (or be willing to obtain one)
• Certificate of Completion for the National Child Safety Foundation Training, completed via Geccko platform
• Proof of immunisation against Measles, Mumps and Rubella and Whooping Cough (Pertussis) (or be willing to receive)
