Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be at least twenty-one years of age.
Two-month training program to obtain Certified Locomotive Engineer and Conductor licenses under 49 CFR Part 240/242.
Must pass a DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate for a minimum of a two year qualifying period.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Prior railroad operating experience preferred.
FRA regulations require clean motor vehicle driving record and no drug/alcohol violations within past 36 months.

Responsibilities

Operate CRV safely and efficiently per RTDC rules and regulations.
Provide customer service to passengers and ensure trains run on time.
Report unusual occurrences to the N Line Dispatcher and follow safety procedures.
Perform visual inspections, tests, and paperwork; document equipment defects.
Wear required uniform and protective equipment; maintain professional composure under stress.
