Job summary

Regional Transportation District (RTD) in Denver seeks an Instructional Trainer for rail maintenance to deliver classroom, field, and hands‑on instruction across vehicles, infrastructure, and safety procedures.

You will develop course materials, conduct evaluations, and maintain training records in RTD's LMS while collaborating with maintenance leaders, safety personnel, and instructors to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and workforce readiness.

Qualifications

• Two years delivering or supporting rail maintenance training, including classroom, field, and hands‑on instruction.
• Experience delivering or supporting training programs for rail maintenance with safety and regulatory awareness.
• Knowledge of applicable rail safety regulations (FRA/FTA/OSHA) preferred.
• Colorado driver license; CDL endorsements (Class B) commonly required for field operations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom, field, shop, and hands‑on training for rail maintenance personnel and safety requirements.
• Monitor trainee progress and provide coaching, evaluations, and competency checkups.
• Develop, prepare, and deliver training materials, assessments, and practical activities.
• Maintain training records in RTD’s LMS and other designated systems.
• Coordinate logistics for training events, orientations, and workshops.
• Set up instructional tools, vehicles, equipment, and classroom technology for learning environments.
• Collaborate with rail maintenance leaders, safety personnel, and instructors to ensure regulatory compliance and workforce readiness.
