Qualifications

• No education required.
• Six (6) months of experience as a package handler or switching/CDL operator preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.

Responsibilities

• Moves trailers between yard, doors, and yard switches; hooks and moves parked trailers.
• Coordinates trailer movements with management/central control.
• Documents trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Loads and unloads packages onto/off delivery vehicles and equipment.
• Sorts packages by reading labels and charts and using scanners.
