Job summary

Monroe Truck Equipment, Inc. in Minnesota is seeking a Welder to join our shop team. A Welder is responsible for assembly, securing and welding metal parts using a pulse MIG welder, reading blueprints, and fabricating components to spec with minimal supervision.

You will operate overhead hoists or cranes, use hand tools, and ensure quality welds in multiple positions. The role requires MIG welding experience and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs; training for forklift operation may be needed.

Qualifications

• MIG welding experience required.
• Pulse welding experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings/blueprints.
• Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate simple instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Follow blueprints to create quality products.
• Troubleshoot issues on the shop floor with supervision for best outcomes.
• Prepare products to be welded by reading blueprints and fixturing.
• Ensure equipment is in good repair and used safely with PPE.
• Identify and move finished products using a forklift if trained.
• Operate manual and automatic welders with correct welding parameters.
• Weld in all positions: flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead, and down.
• Perform inspections as required by standards.
