Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. in Memphis seeks a hands-on Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain equipment, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical failures, and diagnose issues using precision tools.

Candidates must provide their own tools, have a high school diploma, and hold a valid CDL when required. The role requires reading instruments, welding when needed, and adherence to DOT/OSHA regulations. Shift details and safety mindset expected.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School degree or equivalent.
  • Experience: Maintenance technician or equivalent education.
  • Experience with truck repair, body and frame repair.
  • Must provide own tools for job duties.
  • Ability to complete required paperwork and records.
  • Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (when required).
  • Knowledge of DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Build, rebuild and repair all parts of company equipment as required.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical or other breakdowns in trucks or related equipment.
  • Read precision instruments (micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, voltmeters, digital multi-meters).
  • Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis of components and systems.
  • Welding may be required to complete repairs on trucks or dollies.
  • Follow DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA rules and regulations.
