Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking a Trailer Technician Trainee to gain hands-on experience with air brake systems, FHWA inspections, and basic trailer repairs under supervision.

You will learn shop safety, complete work orders, and grow through the Technician Career Advancement program, with opportunities across shifts, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; basic computer skills preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors as needed.
• Willingness to work across multiple shifts, including nights/weekends.
• Able to supply basic tools or participate in toolbox purchase program.

Responsibilities

• Shadow a senior technician to learn repairs per manufacturer specs and SRT guidelines.
• Complete work orders and adhere to warranty guidelines and safety procedures.
• Maintain professional communication with customers and team members at all times.
• Learn and perform routine air brake system maintenance and FHWA inspections.
