Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Trailer Technician to perform basic maintenance, service, and repair on trailers, containers, chassis, and related equipment in a maintenance setting. Under supervision, you will conduct fleet maintenance to meet J.B. Hunt standards at all times.

The role requires 1 year of semi-trailer maintenance/repair experience, willingness to work outdoors, and ability to work nights or weekends if needed. Strong communication with team and customers is important.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with 1 year of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent.
• Ability to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchase program.
• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements.
• Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate basic knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairs related to trailer equipment, including air brake systems and FHWA inspections
• Accurately perform basic repairs up to company and manufacturer’s specifications, complete work orders and demonstrate understanding of company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines
• Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures
• Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers
