Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport in Palmetto, GA is seeking a Trailer Technician to perform basic maintenance and repairs on trailers, containers, chassis and related equipment. You’ll work under supervision to ensure fleet readiness and meet J.B. Hunt standards.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, basic repairs, and accurate work orders while following safety procedures. Must be able to operate across shifts, including nights and weekends if needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with 1 year of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent.
• Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences
• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate basic knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairs related to trailer equipment, including air brake systems and FHWA inspections
• Accurately perform basic repairs up to company and manufacturer’s specifications, complete work orders and demonstrate understanding of company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines
• Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures
• Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers
