Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Dallas, TX is seeking a Trailer Technician Trainee to gain hands-on knowledge of air brake systems, shop tools, and general maintenance procedures under close supervision.

You will shadow senior technicians, follow shop safety rules, and train to complete work orders. This role requires outdoor work, variable shifts including nights and weekends, and overtime; it offers opportunities to learn and grow within J.B. Hunt's Maintenance team.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Able to supply basic tools or participate in toolbox program.
• Willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Able to work across nights and/or weekends as needed.
• Trade school experience is a plus.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Shadow a senior technician to learn repairs to manufacturer specifications, complete work orders, and train to be efficient in standard repair times and warranty guidelines.
• Follow shop safety procedures and maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers.
• Train to become efficient in routine preventative maintenance, replacement of parts/components, basic repair as it pertains to air brake systems and FHWA inspections.
