Job summary

W&B Service Company is seeking a Trailer Technician to perform preventative maintenance and repair on semi-trailers. You will address brakes, electrical systems, and chassis components, ensuring safety standards are met and parts are properly installed.

Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision are required. Must have own tools, valid license, and the capacity to lift up to 60 pounds on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• Experience preferred but not required.
• Mechanical aptitude or construction experience is important.
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record is required.
• Must have own tools and be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and crouch for long periods is essential.

Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance and repair all systems on Semi-Trailers to meet DOT standards.
• Remove and replace brakes, brake drums, hubs, seals, bearings, races and related parts.
• Repair electrical and lighting systems on trailers.
• Repair or replace chassis components (springs, hangers, axles, sub frames).
• Repair mud flap brackets, dolly legs, flooring, rub rails, doors and door trim.

W&B Service Company has an excellent opportunity for a Trailer Technician.We are the largest transport refrigeration dealer of Carrier Transicold, a world leader in Truck, Trailer and rail refrigeration systems. We are also the nation’s largest full service Hyundai Translead trailer dealer. We have 21 facilities throughout the Southwest, including Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma.

Duties will include:

• Preventative maintenance and repair all systems on Semi-Trailers to meet the minimum standards set forth by DOT
• Remove and replace brakes, brake drums, hubs, seals, bearings, races and associated parts
• Repair electrical and lighting systems
• Repair or replace chassis components such as springs, spring hangers, equalizers, complete slider assemblies, axles, and sub frames
• Repair mud flap brackets and dolly leg assembles
• Repair or replace flooring, rub rails, doors and door trim
• Repair roofs, panels, nose panels, lower and upper rails
• Welding
• Conform to all safety and health standards

Requirements:

• Experience preferred but not required.
• Mechanical aptitude or construction experience.
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
• Must have own tools
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb, and / or sit frequently throughout the duration of the day
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Attention to detail is key for this position
