Job summary

Transdev North America, Inc. seeks an experienced Trailer Technician to perform routine maintenance and repair work on Class 8 trailers and other vehicles. Your work ensures safety, efficiency, and longevity of assets by completing preventative maintenance and service calls as needed.

The role requires basic mechanical aptitude, a valid CDL with passenger endorsement, and DOT compliance. You will document maintenance, assist with road calls, and follow Transdev standards while supporting a team

Qualifications

• Diploma or GED preferred; vocational/technical cert in vehicle repair preferred.
• Class B CDL with passenger endorsement preferred.
• ASE Certification preferred; expected to have 1 ASE within 24 months of hire.
• 5+ years automotive or diesel repair experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Adhere to state DOT motor vehicle inspection and safety standards.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Subject to DOT physical exam and DOT drug testing per 49 CFR Part 40.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on Class 8 trailers and other vehicles (pickups, small trailers).
• Replace bulbs, fuses, lenses, wiper blades, belts, hoses, batteries; check fluids and filters; lubricate components.
• Assist in PMs, safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
• Repair brakes, suspensions, drive trains, clutches and related components.
• Maintain records of maintenance and parts; ensure accurate work orders.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle and equipment under supervision; assess work quality.
• Notify supervisor of dangerous equipment and take corrective action.
• Move vehicles between job and work area; assist with road calls and emergency services.
• Adhere to Transdev standards and keep vehicles clean as requested.
