Sanco Thermo King is hiring a Trailer Service Technician in the United States (Iowa region). The role focuses on inspections, maintenance, and repairs of semi-trailers, ensuring safety and reliability for customers.

A mechanic’s toolset and strong diagnostic skills are essential for success in both shop and field settings. Qualified applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and ideally a technical or diesel/trailer repair credential, with CDL preferred or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED with diesel/trailer repair credentials preferred.
• Class A CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, maintenance and repairs on semi-trailers and trailer equipment.
• Complete preventative maintenance per manufacturer and company standards.
• Conduct DOT inspections and identify required repairs.
• Diagnose and repair air brake systems, electrical and lighting, doors, landing gear and trailer bodies.
• Interpret work orders and repair procedures; update service documentation.
• Test equipment after repairs to ensure safe operation.
• Provide excellent customer service during shop and field assignments.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of semi-trailers and trailer equipment
• Complete preventative maintenance services according to manufacturer and company standards
• Conduct DOT inspections and identify required repairs
• Diagnose and repair:
  • Air brake systems
  • Electrical and lighting systems
  • Trailer doors and lift components
  • Landing gear (trailer legs)
  • Trailer floors
  • Suspension systems
  • Trailer bodies and structural components
• Interpret work orders, technical manuals, and repair procedures
• Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation and safety
• Provide excellent customer service during shop and field service assignments
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and recommend appropriate solutions
• Complete accurate work orders, inspection reports, and service documentation
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Technical degree or diesel/trailer repair certification preferred
• Previous experience as a diesel mechanic or trailer service technician preferred
• Class A CDL preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
