Sanco Thermo King in Dubuque, IA is seeking a Trailer Service Technician to inspect, maintain, and repair a variety of semi-trailers, trailers equipment, and related systems. You will perform preventative maintenance and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues to ensure safety and reliability.

The role requires a high school diploma, diesel/trailer certification preferred, CDL preferred, and valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical degree or diesel/trailer repair certification preferred.
• Previous experience as a diesel mechanic or trailer service technician preferred.
• Class A CDL preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of semi-trailers and trailer equipment.
• Complete preventative maintenance services according to manufacturer and company standards.
• Conduct DOT inspections and identify required repairs.
• Diagnose and repair air brake, electrical, and trailer components.
• Interpret work orders, technical manuals, and repair procedures.
• Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation and safety.
• Provide excellent customer service during shop and field service assignments.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Complete accurate work orders, inspection reports, and service documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of semi-trailers and trailer equipment
• Complete preventative maintenance services according to manufacturer and company standards
• Conduct DOT inspections and identify required repairs
• Diagnose and repair:
  • Air brake systems
  • Electrical and lighting systems
  • Trailer doors and lift components
  • Landing gear (trailer legs)
  • Trailer floors
  • Suspension systems
  • Trailer bodies and structural components
• Interpret work orders, technical manuals, and repair procedures
• Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation and safety
• Provide excellent customer service during shop and field service assignments
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and recommend appropriate solutions
• Complete accurate work orders, inspection reports, and service documentation
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
