Job summary

Sanco Thermo King in Des Moines, IA is hiring a diesel mechanic to repair and maintain a variety of semi-trailers. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, brake and electrical repairs, and body, floor, suspension, and door work.

Candidates should have a high school diploma; technical certification is a plus. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered, along with competitive pay, health/dental/vision insurance, an HSA, 401(k), and life/disability coverage.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical degree or certification is a plus.
• Diesel mechanic experience preferred.
• Class A CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs and maintenance on semi-trailers (wide variety).
• Conducts preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
• Repairs brake systems and electrical wiring.
• Performs light, door, leg, floor, suspension, and body repairs.
• Interprets work orders and technical manuals.
• Tests repaired equipment for proper performance.
• Provides service and customer support during field visits or dispatches.
• Diagnoses errors or problems and determines solutions.
• Produces timely service reports.
