Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Trailer Refrigeration Mechanic to perform maintenance and repair of refrigerated trailers, dry vans, and related equipment at our California location. You will troubleshoot issues, complete fleet maintenance processes, and ensure units meet J.B.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age with 1-2 years of experience in Semi-Trailer maintenance and repair and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience, and/or military equivalent.
• Willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.
• E.P.A. section 608 certification Tech 2
• At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate standard knowledge of preventative maintenance, replacement of parts/components, and more difficult repairs as they pertain to specialized trailer maintenance, air brake systems, and FHWA Inspections
• Troubleshoot and repair specialized trailer equipment; work independently and seek assistance as needed
• Participate in Original Equipment Manufacturing training for OE repairs
• Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures
• Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers at all times
• Accurately perform standard repairs to company and manufacturer specifications and complete work orders
• Perform standard preventive maintenance tasks including tires, brakes, electrical diagnostics, and chassis work
• Use cutting torch and welding equipment for minor repairs on chassis and frames
