Job summary

J.B. Hunt in Haslet, TX seeks a Refrigeration Technician I in Maintenance to perform standard maintenance, service, and repair of refrigerated trailers, dry vans, and related equipment. You may work outdoors on diverse shifts, including nights and weekends, and overtime may be required.

You will troubleshoot issues, complete fleet maintenance processes, and ensure units meet specifications with proper documentation and safety practices.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in Semi-Trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent experience.
• Willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights/weekends.
• EPA section 608 certification Tech 2
• Experience in DOT/FHWA inspections and air brakes

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate standard knowledge of preventative maintenance and repairs on trailers, including air brake systems and FHWA inspections.
• Troubleshoot and repair specialized trailer equipment; work independently and seek assistance as needed.
• Participate in OE repairs training and follow shop safety procedures.
• Maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers.
• Perform standard repairs to company specifications and complete work orders.
• Carry out routine preventive maintenance such as tire replacements, brake services, electrical diagnostics, and chassis repairs.
• Use cutting torch and welding equipment for minor repairs on chassis and brackets.
