American Transportation Services has immediate openings for qualified trailer mechanics in the Las Vegas/Henderson area. We provide a stable, friendly work environment with flexible shift options and a path to advance within a Fortune 500 logistics partner.

Responsibilities include inspections, repairs of ABS and air brake systems, trailer and dolly work, and completing required paperwork. Candidates should have 1–3 years' experience, own essential tools, pass a background check, and pursue DOT,

Qualifications

• Must have 1–3 years as a trailer/chassis mechanic and own most required tools.
• Must pass background check.
• Willing to pursue DOT inspections, air brake certifications, and ASE certification.
• MIG welding experience preferred.
• Experience with ABS systems and trailer/dolly repairs.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work full time in Las Vegas area.

• Perform FAI and state inspections.
• Inspect and repair ABS and air brake systems.
• Diagnose and repair trailer and dolly components.
• Complete required paperwork and record-keeping.

Selected candidates will be responsible for maintaining trailering equipment for a Fortune 500 package delivery company in a clean well-maintained environment.

Requirements:

Qualified Mechanic:1-3 years as a trailer/chassis mechanic (or similar). Possess most required tools.

Must Pass Background Check

Responsibilities Include but not limited to:

• Perform FAI and State required inspections.
• Inspect and repair “S” cam air brake systems.
• Diagnose and repair anti-lock brake systems.
• Perform repairs to commercial trailers and converter dollies in all potential aspects.
• Perform the required paperwork and/or computer records accordingly.

Qualifications are, but not limited to:

• Must be 18 years of age
• Must have basic computer skills
• Must have necessary tools to perform job functions
• Willing to work on becoming certified in DOT inspections, Air brake certifications, ASE certified.
• MIG Welding preferred
• Trailer repair: Minimum 1 years’ experience Required
• ABS - System troubleshooting and repair
• Corner Radius Repairs
• Lighting - Troubleshooting and repairs
• Roof repairs – patch, section and replacement
• Scuff liner repairs and or replacements
• Suspensions repairs and replacement
• Major trailer repair/wreck repairs
• Bottom/top rail repairs and or replacements
• Side sheet replacements
• Threshold repair/replacements
