Overview

Sign on bonus of up to $5,000 available depending upon experience/skill level. This position is primarily responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing, and repairing semi-trailers. In-house advanced‑training opportunities are available; we cover travel costs for training. We offer a family‑oriented work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to troubleshoot issues and repair vehicles to proper operating condition.
  • Perform advanced repairs and replace major components such as radiators, valve adjustments, and turbos.
  • Rebuild or repair major components such as transmissions, gear plates and block reconditioning.
  • Perform entire engine overhauls, including replacing heads, rods and main bearings.
  • Troubleshoot and perform complex wiring repairs and diagnose and repair any electronic issues.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance services.
  • Identify worn and damaged parts, including major components, and repair, adjust, or replace as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area.
  • Meet shop quality and efficiency standards.
  • Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
  • Follow all state and federal vehicle requirements, testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards; follow company policies, procedures, and safety and EPA regulations.
  • Use all safety equipment necessary for the job.
  • Maintain current knowledge of job and technical skills by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical and regulation publications.
  • Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2–5 years working on trailers.
  • Must have own hand tools.
  • High expertise in troubleshooting using diagnostic software.
  • Proficient computer skills to input vehicle maintenance records and utilize diagnostic software.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job (lift/move up to 50 lbs, climb, stoop, kneel, see, grasp, hear, etc.).
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain predictable and reliable attendance and work in a safe and alert manner.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet insurance requirements; CDL license preferred but not required.

Employment Details

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 – $31.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule: 8 hour shift, Day shift, Monday to Friday, No nights, No weekends
Location: In person, Relocate to Sparks, NV 89431 before starting work (required)
