Position Summary:
Perform DOT and PM inspections on trailers, repair or replace damaged parts including brakes, air systems, electrical systems, and suspension components. Conduct welding and fabrication repairs, ensure timely completion of work, and maintain accurate records.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess mechanical, electrical, and other repair needs to meet customer expectations
- Perform DOT and PM inspections correctly
- Diagnose and repair foundation brake systems and air systems
- Weld and fabricate steel and aluminum parts
- Repair electrical systems and wiring, including lighting and ABS
- Assist customers on service calls
- Complete all documentation accurately
- Maintain professional and courteous interactions with customers and coworkers
- Use proper PPE and keep work areas clean
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License; CDL preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Self-motivated with good communication skills
- Physical ability to handle tools, stand, walk, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs
