Job summary

Swift Transportation is seeking a Trailer Mechanic in Morris, IL to perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on company trailers and equipment.

Paid training is available; this role offers a regular schedule from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, at 3800 N Division St, Morris, IL 60450. Candidates should have 2+ years of trailer/diesel mechanical experience and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment hair drug screening.
• 2+ years of trailer, diesel, or related mechanical experience preferred.
• Ability to read repair manuals and work orders.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn diagnostic software.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on company trailers and equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Repair and replace trailer components and systems.
• Complete DOT, OEM, and company-required maintenance procedures.
• Perform tire repairs and maintenance.
• Maintain accurate repair documentation.
• Follow all safety procedures and company standards.
