Job summary

Saia is seeking a Trailer Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair trailers used for transporting goods. You will inspect tractor-trailers, diagnose failures, and perform repairs on mechanical and electrical systems, while documenting every service.

Responsibilities include using hydraulic jacks, conducting full inspections, testing post-repair, and keeping detailed maintenance records. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, be US-authorized, and bring personal tools.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Read, write and understand English to perform duties and review records.
• Must provide and maintain personal maintenance tools.
• 2 years of trailer mechanic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Service, inspect, and repair tractor-trailers.
• Diagnose failures and repair mechanical and electrical trailer systems.
• Use hydraulic jacks and hoists to access undersides of trailers.
• Conduct full inspections and test trailers after repairs.
• Maintain detailed records of service and maintenance activities.
• Repair brakes, tires, axles, wiring, and hydraulic systems.
