Job summary

Saia Logistics is seeking a Trailer Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair tractor-trailers across our network. This role requires hands-on work with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with emphasis on safety and thorough documentation of service activities.

You will inspect and test trailers after repairs, climb under equipment, and use diagnostic software to identify and fix issues. Strong physical ability and teamwork are essential to keep our fleet on the road.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years trailer mechanic experience preferred.
• Proficiency with diagnostic software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Services, inspects, and repairs tractor-trailers.
• Diagnoses failures and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Uses hydraulic jacks and hoists to access underside of trailers.
• Conducts full inspections of trailers to identify any issues.
• Tests trailers after repairs to ensure they operate correctly.
• Maintains detailed records of all service and maintenance activities.
