Job summary

Saia Motor Freight Line LLC is seeking a trailer mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair trailers used for transporting goods. The role requires inspecting and servicing tractor-trailers, diagnosing failures, and ensuring safe operation after repairs.

Responsibilities include using hydraulic jacks and hoists, recording maintenance activities, and repairing brakes, tires, axles, wiring, and hydraulics. Must be 18+, with a high school diploma or GED and legal work status in the United States.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Must provide and maintain personal maintenance tools.
• Read, write, communicate and comprehend the English language.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, diagnoses, and repairs trailers used for transporting goods.
• Services, inspects, and repairs tractor-trailers and tests after repairs.
• Diagnoses failures and repairs mechanical, electrical, and systems on a trailer.
• Uses hydraulic jacks and hoists to access the underside of trailers.
• Maintains a detailed record of all service and maintenance activities.
• Repairs defective parts such as brakes, tires, axles, wiring, and hydraulic systems.
