Job summary

Quality Carriers, Inc. in Bridgeport, NJ is seeking an energetic Trailer Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on semi-truck trailers and tractors from a service truck, adhering to safety regulations and DOT standards.

Competitive weekly pay of $25-$30 per hour with a $2,500 sign-on bonus, plus benefits including medical/dental/vision, FSA, PTO, 401K, and weekly pay. The role involves safety-conscious fieldwork across multiple locations and long‑term career

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience with diesel engines, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• 1 year of experience with tractor/trailer maintenance and knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair tractors and trailers.
• Perform annual/systematic 90 day inspections on trailers.
• Ensure equipment meets Federal FHWA standards.
• Operate a yard hostler to move trailers.
• Identify parts and supplies as needed.
• Follow safety and environmental policies (OSHA).
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Use welding equipment as required.
