Job summary

A-Line is seeking a Trailer Mechanic in Waterloo, IA to maintain our fleet of flatbed and van trailers under the direction of the Maintenance Manager. Starting pay ranges from $21 to $26 per hour depending on experience, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 6:45 am to 4:30 pm.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance to meet DOT requirements, brake/electrical/suspension work, diagnostics, and routine inspections. CDL is a plus; own tools preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with air brakes, electrical systems, and ABS systems is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills required.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication.

A-Line is looking for a Trailer Mechanic to maintain our fleet of flatbed and van trailers. Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, and working closely with a peer, you’ll ensure trailers meet road safety standards and stay in top shape.

Starting Pay: $21 - $26 starting pay, depending on experience

Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:45 am - 4:30 pm

What You’ll Do:

• Perform preventative maintenance on trailers to meet DOT requirements
• Repair and maintain brakes, electrical systems, suspensions, tires, and more
• Troubleshoot issues and document repairs
• Operate the yard truck to maneuver trailers in and out of the shop for repair

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience with air brakes, electrical systems, and ABS systems is a plus
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
• Excellent attention to detail and communication
• Valid Driver’s License (Class A CDL a plus)
• Must have own basic hand tools and storage
