J & J Transportation is a small, family-owned company, that has been in the business for over 20 years. We have immediate openings for Semi Trailer Mechanics.

Responsibilities and qualifications

• 1 year of experience in general trailer repair
• Knowledge of DOT requirements regarding service and repair of equipment
• Has a fundamental understanding of repairing and rebuilding components on 28ft, 48ft & 53ft dry van and flatbed commercial trailers including the following :
• Suspension and running gear components
• Electrical, lighting and wiring components
• Interior and floor components
• ABS system diagnosis and repair
• Able to thoroughly perform Preventative Maintenance inspections and repairs
• Welding and metal fabrication skills
• Experience with rear roll up and swing doors
• Performs service calls and on-site trailer PM services
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Basic computer skills
• Previous or current ASE certifications a plus
• Valid drivers license
• CDL A drivers license a plus
• Possess and maintains basic set of mechanics tools
