Job summary

CMC seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our industrial team in Illinois. You will inspect, repair, and maintain diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and fleet equipment, while upholding strict safety standards and working with a collaborative maintenance crew.

You’ll participate in routine tasks, troubleshoot complex problems, and perform preventive maintenance across multiple sites. The role includes Day 1 benefits, a 401(k) match, and opportunities for training and advancement within

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a heavy industrial environment.
• Must communicate technically, orally and in writing.
• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Able to work overtime as required.
• Able to use a computer and repair tools.
• Knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Participates in safety programs and upholds safety culture.
• Modify, repair and install machinery and equipment per safety policies.
• Perform equipment inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Repair hydraulic and electrical systems as assigned; train in industrial mechanical repairs.
• Work as part of the maintenance team.
• Perform routine maintenance and complex repairs on fleet trucks and trailers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

• Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety Culture
• Modify, repair and install all types of machinery and mechanical equipment while observing all applicable CMC Safety Policies and Procedures
• Perform equipment inspections, preventative maintenance, equipment repairs and troubleshooting equipment problems in an accurate and efficient manner
• Perform repairs on Hydraulic and electrical equipment as assignedTrain to perform industrial mechanical repairs and gain knowledge about hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
• Work as a part of the maintenance team
• Perform routine maintenance and complex repairs on fleet trucks and trailers, including diesel engines, brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

• Must be able to work outside under all weather conditions to include working in the heat and cold weather
• Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment, with strong work ethic, pay attention to detail and find root causes for issues
• Minimum 2 years preferably in a heavy industrial environment
• Must be able to communicate technically, orally and written
• Must be able to use a computer
• Possess proficient skills utilizing hand tools, power tools and precision tools for performing all facets of the repair and maintenance process
• Safety oriented person with leadership skills to perform maintenance duties in a team environment and ability to work alone with little or no supervision
• Able to work overtime as business requires
• Possess specific knowledge of both diesel engines and hydraulic systems

Your Education

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
