Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic to maintain and repair trailers, including brakes, suspension, electrical, and structural components. You will perform 50-point inspections, diagnose issues with shop tools, and replace worn parts.

Welding/fabrication may be required to modify components, and detailed maintenance records must be kept in Samsara. Ideal candidates have a strong background in diesel mechanics, ASE certs, and the ability to read manuals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ASE certifications or 2-5 years in diesel mechanics or related field.
• Strong knowledge of trailer preventative maintenance inspections.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals and schematics.
• Welding and fabrication skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect trailers with 50-point inspections and record damage on PM sheets.
• Diagnose root causes of malfunctions using diagnostic tools.
• Repair brakes, suspension, electrical and structural components.
• Replace worn parts such as brakes, bearings, axles, lights and wiring.
• Welding and fabrication to repair/modify trailer components.
• Perform preventive maintenance and check fluid levels and tires.
• Document work in Samsara with parts, labor hours and findings.
• Ensure repaired trailers meet federal safety standards.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, providing safe solutions.
