Job summary

Wallenius Wilhelmsen is seeking an experienced Trailer & Equipment Mechanic to diagnose problems, perform preventive maintenance, and repair a diverse fleet including lowboy trailers, Class 8 trucks, forklifts, cranes and yard equipment.

This Monday–Friday day shift offers hands-on work with opportunities to advance through on‑the‑job training, plus benefits such as health insurance, 401(k) matching, and life and disability coverage.

Qualifications

2–4 years verifiable experience as a Trailer & Equipment Mechanic.
Air Brakes certification required.
Basic welding skills (Oxy/Acetylene, MIG and ARC).
Proficient with hand and power tools; use of Welders, grinders, torches.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair on Lowboy Trailers, Trucks and equipment (forklifts, cranes, yard equipment).
Diagnose hydraulic, air brakes, suspension, drivetrain and electrical systems.
Move equipment safely around the property and operate specialized tooling.
Document all maintenance and repairs in the TMT shop software.
Follow safety protocols and keep work area clean and organized.
Interact professionally with drivers and other departments.
