Job summary

Join NFI in Tacoma, WA as a diesel mechanic with hands-on experience keeping a dedicated fleet in top condition. You’ll perform routine maintenance, diagnose issues with electrical, suspension and brake systems, and repair components as needed, while maintaining thorough service records.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Technical degree or 2+ years of maintenance experience.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting equipment repairs using diagnostic tools.
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving skills.
  • Good teamwork and customer service, with clear oral and written communication.
  • On-site evaluation with recommended training.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotations.
  • Diagnose issues with trailer electrical, suspension, and brakes.
  • Repair or replace damaged parts like tires, brakes, and suspension components.
  • Perform welding and fabrication work as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed.
  • Communicate with customers about repairs and maintenance.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.

Under the Hood: What It Takes to Join NFI
  • Must have a valid driver's license

NFI Technician Expectations And Responsibilities
