Job summary

NFI is hiring a diesel mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a dedicated fleet. You’ll use industry tools and diagnostic software to keep tractors and trailers in top condition, supporting safe, efficient operations.

Eligible applicants will have a valid driver’s license, relevant technical experience or degree, and strong problem-solving and communication skills. On-site work includes comprehensive benefits and ongoing career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Technical or advanced degree or 2+ years of maintenance experience.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting equipment repairs using diagnostic tools (JPRO, OEM Software, Multimeters).
• Strong problem-solving, teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical tractor/trailer issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on fleet tractors and trailers.
• Complete DOT inspections per FMCSA guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 lbs and operate with flexible movement as required.

NFI Technician Expectations And Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical tractor and trailer-related issues using standard testing procedures and computer diagnostic equipment such as JPRO, OEM Diagnostic Software, Multimeters, and Windows
• Perform preventive maintenance on our fleet of tractors & trailers
• Perform DOT inspection per FMCSA guidelines
• Physically capable of performing all job duties, which include being able to lift and/or pull 75 lbs or more without restriction, stand or lie for extended periods, and have flexible movement to reach equipment.
