Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC seeks a Lead Principal Engineer- Substation for a 1-year contract (W-2), remote with periodic travel within North America. You will lead planning, monitoring, and management of large-scale substation projects from conception to commissioning, ensuring ISO, IEEE, NESC, and other standards compliance.

Role involves coordinating with Early-Stage groups, managing design documents, and providing technical oversight of EORs, with travel across North America expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• MS or MBA degree is helpful but not required.
• PMP and/or P.E. credentials are helpful but not mandatory.
• Travel within North America is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and complete large-scale or multiple projects within budget and schedule.
• Secure resources, manage budgets, risks, and changes with formal processes.
• Conduct project meetings and track/ analyze project progress.
• Identify issues, measure results, and implement solutions.
• Provide information to internal and external clients on complex issues.
• Provide technical oversight of external engineers to ensure code compliance.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to secure substation sites and permits.
• Support interconnection documentation reviews and studies.
• Assist with scope creation, approvals, and procurement of services/materials.
• Develop substation design documents through IFC drawings.
• Review substation drawings and collaborate across disciplines.
• Support project scheduling from an engineering standpoint and commissioning activities.
