Job summary

Chevron Pasadena Refinery seeks a Lead Environmental Specialist - Waste & Water to provide technical leadership and day-to-day environmental compliance support for waste and water programs at the Pasadena facility.

The role requires interpreting environmental requirements, guiding field operations, coordinating regulatory deliverables, and driving continuous improvement in waste and water management practices. Strong cross-functional collaboration and refinery-operating experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Experience supporting environmental compliance in refinery/ petrochemical/ manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of industrial waste management and RCRA requirements.
• Working knowledge of water/wastewater compliance and permitting.
• Ability to interpret regulatory and permit requirements and translate to field actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day implementation and oversight of refinery waste-management programs (hazardous, industrial, non-hazardous, recyclable).
• Support water and wastewater compliance activities including sampling, monitoring, inspections, and reporting.
• Provide field environmental support during planned/unplanned operations and incident response.
• Serve as environmental lead for turnarounds, outages, and capital projects.
• Oversee contractors and service providers; ensure compliant and cost-effective execution.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting, regulatory inspections, and documentation.
