Job summary

Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa in the North Georgia mountains is seeking a Part-Time Stables Trail Guide to join the Equestrian team. The role combines guided trail rides, horse care, stable operations, guest service, and outdoor maintenance to ensure a safe, welcoming environment.

The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, comfortable around horses, and takes pride in maintaining high standards for horse care and guest experiences. Flexible scheduling may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Experience caring for and feeding horses.
• Able to tack horses with Western-style tack.
• Horsemanship skills around horses.
• Able to communicate effectively with guests and staff.
• Read and follow instructions.
• Good judgment to handle routine problems.

Responsibilities

• Lead guided horseback trail rides and provide a safe, enjoyable guest experience.
• Care for, feed, tack, and safely handle horses.
• Prepare horses, pastures, pony ring, holding areas, and trails for daily rides.
• Ensure all horses are accounted for and safely returned to pasture after rides.
• Keep barns, holding areas, equipment, and grounds clean and organized.
• Maintain trails and fencing, including mowing and weed-eating.
• Maintain gates and water systems in good order.
• Assist other Resort departments as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and report accidents promptly.
• Maintain a positive, professional relationship with guests and team.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Part-Time Stables Trail Guide to join our Equestrian team.

This hands-on position combines guided trail rides, horse care, stable operations, guest service, and outdoor maintenance. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, comfortable working around horses, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming equestrian environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead guided horseback trail rides and provide a safe, enjoyable guest experience.

• Care for, feed, tack, and safely handle horses.

• Prepare horses, pastures, pony ring, holding areas, and trails for daily rides.

• Ensure all horses are accounted for and safely returned to pasture following the final ride.

• Keep barns, holding areas, equipment, and surrounding grounds clean and organized.

• Maintain trails and fencing, including mowing, weed-eating, and general grounds upkeep.

• Ensure gates, water tanks, and other stable areas are properly prepared and maintained.

• Assist other Resort departments and team members as needed.

• Follow all safety procedures and promptly report work-related accidents or concerns.

• Maintain a positive, professional, and cooperative working relationship with guests, coworkers, and management.

• Follow all Resort, departmental, and Coral Hospitality policies and service standards.

• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED, related experience or training, or an equivalent combination.

• Experience caring for and feeding horses.

• Ability to tack horses using Western-style tack.

• Demonstrated horsemanship skills and confidence working around horses.

• Ability to communicate effectively with guests, coworkers, and management.

• Ability to read and follow basic written and verbal instructions.

• Sound judgment and the ability to handle routine problems safely and effectively.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position in an outdoor equestrian environment. Candidates should be comfortable with:

• Standing and walking for extended periods.

• Bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and balancing.

• Working around horses and on uneven terrain.

• Using hands and arms for equipment and animal care.

• Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

• Working in varying weather conditions.

Work Schedule

Brasstown Valley Resort operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day, and schedules may vary according to business needs. Flexibility is important, including the ability to adjust shifts when necessary.
