Job summary

Hamilton County Parks & Recreation is seeking a trail maintenance worker to perform a range of tasks from constructing and repairing trails to operating power equipment and maintaining facilities within County parks and open spaces.

The role requires physical endurance, the ability to lift heavy loads, and adherence to safety standards. A high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license are required, with opportunities to lead volunteer trail engagements under supervision.

Qualifications

• Two years' direct experience in recreation, landscaping, trail work, or related field.
• Ability to read manuals, work orders, and documentation for maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license required to operate county vehicles and equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Physical ability for heavy lifting and hiking in varied weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Construct, repair, and maintain trails and related facilities as part of a crew or independently.
• Operate hand and power tools and landscape equipment for maintenance tasks.
• Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning, prep, and safety checks of vehicles and gear.
• Lead or co-lead volunteer trail engagements and assist Trail Manager as needed.
• Assist with organization and upkeep of tools, equipment, and materials in the field.
